Measure for the layers you plan to wear

Choose a reference jacket that already works over your intended inner layer. Compare chest, shoulder, sleeve and body length together. A jacket that closes over a thin tee may feel different over a bulky hoodie, so the reference should reflect how you will actually use it.

Look at the cut as well as the size label. A short workwear shape, a long coat and a hooded shell have different proportion questions. Do not apply a universal size-up rule or infer available room from a model photograph.

Separate a visible style from a performance claim

Write down any stated shell, lining, fill or fabric information from the listing. If it only describes a padded appearance, that does not supply a fill specification or temperature rating. A water-resistant look also cannot establish how the garment behaves in rain.

Use QC images to compare the selected variant, pocket arrangement, visible seams and zip or button placement. If a closure looks unclear, ask for a useful view of that closure. Keep fit questions and performance questions separate so a good-looking photo does not answer both by implication.

Bulky outerwear: ask for packed dimensions

Before combining jackets with other items, obtain the current packed weight and dimensions where available. Use the actual destination in the official estimator. A price for one country or one parcel should not be treated as a quote for another.

Ask which packing options are offered and whether they affect protection or the parcel dimensions. Keep a record of the agreed option, but do not assume that compressing a garment guarantees a particular saving. Recheck the final quote once the warehouse has packed the order.

Questions about jackets

A few details
to settle first.

Should I size up to wear a hoodie underneath?

Compare the seller’s chart with a jacket you already wear over a hoodie. Look at chest, shoulders and sleeves together. This is more useful than applying the same size-up rule to every cut. Read the layering fit checks ↗

Are the winter picks waterproof or temperature-rated?

The winter selection groups layering-related listing types. It does not establish waterproofing, insulation fill or a temperature rating. Check the exact material and performance information supplied for the item. See how the winter selection is selected ↗

What should I check before shipping a bulky jacket?

Review the selected colour and size, visible seams and closures, then get the packed weight and dimensions for the route comparison. Keep any packing decision separate from the garment fit decision. Prepare the shipping inputs ↗
