Boonbuy Parcel Arrived Damaged or Incomplete? Keep the Evidence

Record the parcel condition, check its contents against the shipment list and preserve the documents needed to report a delivery problem promptly.

A damaged carton or an apparently missing item calls for a record of what arrived. Preserve that record before discarding packaging, cleaning an item or combining it with other deliveries.

This article concerns the parcel after delivery. It does not repeat the pre-shipment warehouse QC checklist or establish that any loss is covered. Boonbuy, UPS and FedEx sources were reviewed on 27 October 2026. The carrier examples explain evidence types, not which carrier a Boonbuy route uses or which claim process applies to your shipment.

Record the condition at the handover

Boonbuy’s receipt notice asks recipients to check the outer packaging and seals and to inspect the contents with the delivery person before acceptance, recording a problem where applicable. Ask how inspection or notation works for the service actually delivering your parcel; an unattended delivery needs a record of what happened rather than an invented handover.

Photograph the parcel as it arrived, including the label, visible damage and the sealing tape. Add wider views that show which part of the carton a close-up belongs to. Record the delivery timestamp from the carrier alongside the time you inspected the parcel, especially if those are different events.

Keep an unaltered copy of the photographs. If you make a cropped copy to explain a detail, retain the original image as well. An opening video can supplement the record, but should not be described as an automatic entitlement to compensation.

Check against the actual shipment contents

Use the list of items included in that parcel, not your whole warehouse inventory or an older shopping shortlist. Identify each received item by its order reference, selected variant and quantity.

For an apparent shortage, mark the expected item and what was found instead. For damage, record the affected component and the condition of the wrapping around it. Separate an item you cannot identify yet from one you have established is absent.

As an illustration, a note saying that one selected shirt is missing from a parcel containing two shirts and one bag is more actionable than saying the haul is wrong. This example demonstrates a description, not a report of an actual transaction.

Retain the carton, packing materials and value records

UPS’s claims guidance asks for a specific merchandise description, documentation supporting value and photographs of the damaged item and its packing, the shipping label and the parcel exterior. It also asks for the box dimensions and notes that inspection may be needed.

FedEx likewise describes supporting documents and tells recipients to keep original packaging until the claim is resolved. Keep the relevant carton, tape, cushioning and contents together so that your own photographs can still be matched to the physical shipment if requested.

Use original purchase or payment records for value information. An approximate USD price from a discovery card is not the receipt for the goods in your parcel. Do not alter those records to fit an expected reimbursement amount.

Report promptly using the applicable instructions

For damaged parcels or missing contents where the parcel was not signed for in the delivery person’s presence, Boonbuy’s receipt notice asks for feedback to the local post office within two days of the carrier’s recorded delivery, preservation of the box and sealing tape, and invoices and photos when contacting Boonbuy for assistance. This is that notice’s reporting instruction, not a universal carrier filing deadline.

Contact the actual service and Boonbuy promptly to establish the process for your shipment. Ask who should file, which documents are required and what deadline applies. If delivery was unattended or an inspection was unavailable, describe that fact accurately in the report.

Keep the case reference and any acknowledgement with the evidence. If a supporting document is still missing, say what it is and ask how to provide it rather than waiting silently for every question to be resolved.

If the carrier records a delivery that differs from what you received, also review the tracking event and proof-of-delivery checks.

Separate documentation from the coverage decision

Boonbuy’s receipt notice lists exclusions, including fragile-item breakage and prohibited goods. A complete photo record therefore cannot guarantee an accepted claim or a payment.

Ask the handler to explain the decision and the terms applied to the actual shipment. Keep any later inspection request or resolution with the same case. Retain the packaging until the handler confirms what is required, following the relevant carrier instructions rather than treating a filed report as the end of the process.
